Blue Skies

It has rained A LOT in Northern California this winter. A lot a lot. Like almost every day for months a lot. I know we need it, and ultimately it’s a good thing, but man it was starting to wear.

This week the sun is finally shining and the temps are inching into the low 60s. It feels so good to be outside.

The sun and blue skies almost make up for sprinting forward on Sunday.

Almost.

  1. Yay! Sun makes a HUGE difference in my mood after days of dreary weather. We have had SOOOO much rain this winter, too, and most springs are pretty rainy here so I am soaking it up this week. nothing. NOTHING. makes up for f-ing DST. Monday was SOOO HARD for everyone in our house. I wish we would just go to permanent DST or non-DST but the whole switching around is completely pointless and based on very antiquated concerns about energy usage. I read an article stating increased health issues around the time changes due to stress/change in circadian rhythm. I know I’ve been more tired and “off” so I’m exercising less and making bad food choices.

  2. HATE DSL time changing. Understand WA, OR and CA all voted for state government to get rid off time changing and while I know that involves getting approval from Feds (and the current big house person there hates us so would prefer to have us change time even more often to upset us and make chuckles about it). Well, I still hope!
Agreed the blue skies are lovely and encouraging to see. Our daffodils started blooming about two weeks ago (depending on their precise location)and the fruit trees were doing their thing in the rain ….. but it is gorgeous! Besides, if you want snow….. drive east to the mountains. It is there. Spring skiing is glorious.

  3. As a fellow NorCal person I too am SO EXCITED to see the sun. I know we need the rain- even though they have been letting water out of the dams in our area because they are SO FULL. But, it’s been so incredibly wet. I went to my monthly Bunco Tuesday night and we were all so excited that there had been actual sunshine, it was pretty funny. I don’t love the time changes, but having lived in AZ, I hated changing time zones more. I was positively giddy our first fall back in California to get to change my clocks rather than changing timezones.
