Yes, yes I do.
And I play them ALL THE TIME.
I am on a level of Two Dots that I refuse to publish here. If I did the math, and multiplied the level I’m on by 3 minutes (a conservative estimate of the average time a level takes to beat a level) I would get an obscenely high number. It boggles the mind how much of my life I’ve spent playing Two Dots.
I’ve also spent tons of time on Solitaire. And Wordscapes. And now I have two other puzzle games I play daily.
I don’t really watch TV much these days. And sometimes I listen to audiobooks while I play. But really, the amount of time I’m spending on phone games is… way more than I want to admit, to myself or others.
But I’m not doom scrolling my news feeds. So that is good. Maybe some puzzle games are not so bad…
You got games on your phone?
I don’t! The only game I play is wordle. Ha! My main phone scroll these days is mostly blogs and planner/stationery YouTube. Ha!
I need more blogs to read. That is part of why I started playing games! Because there is never anything in my Feedly stream.
I have a few games. I think some games are like an electronic fidget and not such a bad thing while you listen to an audiobook. My brain doesn’t like to slow down and watch tv so I end up playing a mindless game while I watch. It isn’t that different from knitting except I don’t get a nice scarf from it!
I also play games a lot while I watch TV or movies. Except when my husband picks a foreign film with subtitles from the Criterion Collection (which happens frequently). 😉
2 games on phone. both free but with ads. Cheap mental health aids. Not doom scrolling these days is remarkable win. I am trying to beat that back for mental health. I think you are winning that better than I am but you have a job and commute that prevents self-medication with computers for lots of your waking hours.
Please: what are your other games?
Not really- I have a game my boyfriend’s daughter asked me to add so I could play with her, but I’m not a video game person be it on the pc or phone. Card games in person? Sure! Board games? Sign me up, but phone games hold zero appeal for me.
I play Wordle and then go in phases with other things. Sometimes I play a of Solitaire. I also play quite a bit of Ticket to Ride lately against a sister and a friend. Like anything else, everything in phases. I also have TV on a lot in the background now while I work. I used to want silence to concentrate but that’s changed a lot!
