The husband wanted to stop by an event at Pier 39 on Saturday (unofficially, but for work), so we all took BART to the F-line up the Embarcadero and walked around in what is probably the most touristy area of San Francisco. It was a beautiful day and we had a better time than I expected. Here are some photos from our time as tourists.

Playing tourist in your own city is fun. I like that the f-train cars are the only mobile national monument!
The F-train cars are soooo cool. I love them. They are great.
San Francisco on a beautiful day is spectacular, and I love that walk from the Ferry Building to the wharf. I didn’t know you could line up the three buildings either! Coit Tower is so small, but looks like it fits in. Great photo.
I worked at a big Union Square hotel for 7 years in the late 80s and early 90s. I always poo-poohed the wharf as just for tourists. But whenever we end up down there, I always have a good time, and I’m surprised when I find really good food too! We ended up at Scoma’s once, and I was delighted to find that they have free parking AND good food.
She really is so pretty when she’s showing off her stuff, isn’t she? I also am pretty snobby about the tourist spots, but when people are in town and I visit them, I enjoy myself. Especially when the weather is beautiful. (And isn’t it hilarious how the Salesforce building looks as tall (shorter?) than Coit tower. Hilarious!)
I can’t believe I’ve never been to SF. Always looks like a beautiful city in your photos.
Well, if you ever come this way, you’d have a place to stay!
Thank you.
You’re welcome!
