Nope

I finally heard from my high school. I didn’t get the job.

I have to tell my district that I’m leaving by the end of the month (or I break next year’s contract and they can take action against me for that), which is when I leave for Ecuador anyway, so that was my final opportunity to find a new job for next year. I’ll have to wait until next spring to start again.

I have A LOT of work to do this coming year to make myself a more competitive candidate. I hope it helps.

  1. Again, I’m so sorry you didn’t get the job. 🙁 I do think that this experience in Ecuador is going to be INCREDIBLE for you though, both in terms of the actual experience and the learning opportunities. I can’t wait to hear your report on it afterwards!

    1. This was my suggestion. Given that you know these people, I think this would also be beneficial to help clear the awkwardness that may follow.

Very sorry it was a “no.” Those always suck.

  2. I’m so sorry. I hope you can get some feedback, either what you can do to up your chances or learn that it wasn’t you so much that someone had an inside track.

  3. Glad they did get back to you. Hope you can find out, even through informal routes of teachers you know there, what would make a difference for the next opening. It is always a process. I am remembering you had written there were pluses and minuses to both outcomes. Hopefully the answer makes the packing process easier.
    Hugs! And support.

  4. I’ve been following your job postings & pulling for you. Such a huge bummer. I’m sorry. Being a position where you don’t feel valued nor like it just doesn’t help matters any at all. I know, I’m in the same boat. But, hey lets look on the bright side, perhaps the Ecuador trip is going to be a great addition to your resume. Plus, less stress for now. Chin up, you’re awesome and headed in the right direction.

  5. Today is pack out of classroom day! I have lots of faith in you.. You will make it!
